Six artists collaborated with architects and engineers from 1988–1990 designing infrastructure elements of the new light rail system between East Saint Louis, Illinois, downtown Saint Louis, Missouri, and the Saint Louis Airport. The artists (Alice Adams, Gary Burnley, Leila Daw, Anna Valentina Murch, Michael Jantzen and Jody Pinto) collaborated in the design of specific system elements, including bridge piers, retaining walls, station canopies, and platforms.
